KI im fotografischen Bild / Artificial Intelligence in Photographic Imagery

I had a brief but passionate affair with early AI imagery, back when it was really just a pure, raw line of text prompt and nothing else. These early stages were mainly about wrestling with the machine for hours on end to get the desired results. But in a way it was like toiling away at a canvas or chopping at a block of wood, so I didn't mind. Those days are long gone, but maybe I'll upload a couple of examples sometime. Or ask AI to do it for me?

It did create some local buzz at the time, made the front page and so forth.

I largely owe this inspiration to Boris Eldagsen, whose photographic exploits I had been loosely following even before the AI days. So when he came up with his first experiments, I was intrigued and eventually tried it myself.

In the picture below we are standing next to a large print of his iconic work "The Electrician". He's pointing at me like I'm The Man, but of course he was The Man all along.

Boris Eldagsen (left, obviously) and Gerald Bauer (right, eyes wide shut). Prominently in the center is a large print of Eldagsen's iconic work The Electrician. The one from the Sony Award? Yeah, that one.
